Description
Get up early with high tide, before the dogwalkers appear, and the beach will have plenty of birds in easy reach of a short stroll. Oštrigar, Veliki Pozviždač, Siva Čaplja and Crvenonoga Prutka are all likely on the beach around the waterline. Kameničak, Siva vrana and Bijela pastirica ssp yarrellii may be more likely on exposed seaweed or flotsam around the tide mark. Gačac is also possible. Morski Vranac is most likely hauled out on rocky outcrops, although Veliki Vranac is becoming more common in recent times. Riječni Galeb is common with occasional Crnoglavi Galeb. Gavka and Divlja Patka are likely in the water.
For a slightly longer walk a path goes along the cliffs at the north end of the bay where Sjeverna trepteljka, Crnoglavi Batić and Crvenokljuna galica could be encountered.
