I was amazed to see that the harbour at low tide is a popular roosting area for autumn migrant flocks of Troprsti Zlatar and Mala Čigra. Large numbers of Mala njorka, Mali Galeb, Veliki pomornik, Kratkorepi pomornik, Dugorepi pomornik, Obična gregula, Sooty Shearwater, Troprsti galeb and Sjeverni zovoj can be seen from the clifftop walk east of town.
Beyond the Seaton Cliffs reserve, 3 miles on foot from Arbroath, is Seaton Den, a wooded valley frequented by migrant passerines. Rarities like Šarenokrili azijski zviždak, Žuti Voljić, Mala muharica and Pjegava Grmuša may turn up in autumn.
Cliffs can be steep, take care with children and dogs. There is a tarmac path.
