Description
Hemsted Forest is rich in different bird species. It has a gently undulating landscape and a mix of conifers and broad-leaved trees. This makes for some beautiful views across open areas and through the less-dense undergrowth beneath the evergreens. Wide hard-stone surfaced paths criss-cross the forest, together with numerous more wild and less accessible trails. Among the birds you can encounter are Kukavica, Šumska šljuka, Jastreb, Škanjac, Sivi Ćuk, Šumska sova, Veliki Djetlić, Zelena žuna, Gavran, Jelova sjenica, Crnoglava sjenica, Dugorepa Sjenica, Crnokapa Grmuša, Siva Grmuša, Grmuša čevrljinka, Zlatoglavi Kraljić, Brgljez, Kratkokljuni puzavac, Palčić, Drozd Imelaš, Mali Drozd, Drozd Bravenjak, Drozd Cikelj, Sjeverna Zeba, Zimovka, Zelendur, Čižak and Češljugar.
