Description

Merkinch is an area of tidal pools and mudflats, reedbeds, ponds, saltmarsh and scrub. Birds seen include Patka Batoglavica, Gavka, all three diver species, Patka ledara, Ušati gnjurac, Oštrokljuna njorka, Vodenkos, Sjeverna trepteljka, Čižak, Sjeverna Zeba, Sjeverni krstokljun, Pjegavi Cvrčić, Bukoč and Kobac.

Merkinch is the NW suburb of Inverness. Follow Thornbush road/Kessock road to the terminus where parking is available. Regular bus service.
