Description
NWT Ranworth Broad is accessible to all and boasts a great visitor centre (which is open in the spring and summer) with wide views over Ranworth Broad. The broad (lake) itself offers chances to see Ćubasti Gnjurac, Vodomar and Eja Močvarica throughout the year, while the boardwalk trail supports Crnoglava sjenica, Zimovka and Kokošica may also be heard.
In winter, the broad will be busy with feeding wildfowl including Zviždara, Kržulja, Patka Žličarka, Patka Lastarka and a few Krunata Patka. In periods of harsh weather, Bukavac, Patka crninka and other scarcer species may be seen. The alder trees on the trail from the car park may hold good numbers of Čižak and Lesser Redpoll.
In summer, there is a chance of seeing a flyover Bukoč, but more likely, there will be plenty of Crvenokljuna Čigra feeding over the broad. Large gatherings of Lastavica, Piljak and Bregunica may also be seen. Listen out for the songs of Zviždak, Trstenjak Rogožar, Trstenjak cvrkutić and even a Kukavica along the boardwalk trail.
