Sutton Courtenay Gravel Pits has numerous footpaths which may be diverted in case of active gravel extraction. Velika Bijela Čaplja, Mala Bijela Čaplja and Čaplja Govedarica are present. Poljski Vrabac, Bregunica and warblers breed. In winter, there may be, Galeb Klaukavac, Iceland Gull, Glaucous Gull, Kokošica, Ring-necked Duck and waders.

From Oxford take A34 south, go left at Tesco Abingdon interchange, first right to Drayton, right again to Sutton Courtenay. 2 car parks in village. Or seek permission to park at Appleford village hall. Train station in Appleford, bus stops in both villages.
