Description
The Trent Port area is flat and overlooks a number of fields and the River Trent. The River Trent is a good location for Mala Prutka during passage, Mala Bijela Čaplja and Vodomar. The surrounding fields and hedgerows have good numbers of Crvenonoga jarebica, Močvarna Strnadica and Žuta strnadica. 150 species have been recorded here including local scarcities such as Šumski Zviždak, Batokljun, Galeb Klaukavac and Crnoglava Muharica whilst Mala Šljuka and Veliki ronac are annual visitors. In winter the River Trent is prone to flooding the fields, which provide some additional ornithological interest. Species recorded during floods includes Patka Žličarka, Patka Lastarka, Glavata Patka and Krunata Patka.
