When Walmore Common floods it is a sheltered spot for Žutokljuni Labud, Mali labud, dabbling ducks, Vivak, Troprsti Zlatar, Veliki Pozviždač, Žalar Cirikavac, Šljuka Kokošica and Mala Šljuka. There are Sivi Ćuk, Šumska sova and Kukuvija in the area all year round. Sylvia and leaf warbers breed. Smeđoglavi Batić and Žuta Pastirica pass on migration. The Severn bore tidal wave can be viewed from the pub nearby.

Access
Located north of the A48 Chepstow to Gloucester road which is a regular bus route. Park near Chaxhill primary school and follow footpath nearby to view. Further access from Lower Ley. Park at T-junction shown and walk west for 3/4 mile.
