Description
Henc is the most important wetland in Kosovo. It was artificially created in the late sixties, aiming at the cultivation of fish. The wetland was created by the conflux of Magura and Vrella water flows, which are branches of Sitnica River. With the surface of 74 ha, biodiversity in the Henc wetland is considered quite rich compared to its size. It attracts many birds. Among the birds you can see in the area are Böjti réce, Kanalas réce, Barátréce, Cigányréce, Gólyatöcs, fattyúszerkő, Kis kárókatona, Bölömbika, törpegém, Vörös gém, üstökösgém, Bakcsó, Függőcinege, Sordély, Hamvas rétihéja, Barna rétihéja, Fülemülesitke and Nádirigó.
