Parc du Marquenterre has 200 hectares of marshes, dunes and reed beds located between land and sea. Whatever the season, you can watch thousands of birds of over 300 species (waders, shorebirds, water birds, perching birds and birds of prey) without disturbing them. There are three walking routes (approx. 45 min, 75 min and 90 min) which take you along the 13 observation posts.
In spring, the heron colony welcomes 6 different species in a pine forest with a majority of Kanalasgém. An observation screen allows the observation of a Kárókatona colony very close. During the peak of autumn migration, thousands of waders (Csigaforgató, Nagy póling, etc) occupy the roosting islands. Küszvágó csér nest on the same islands in spring.

Français: Entre terre et mer, avec ses 200 ha de marais, dunes et roselières, le Parc du Marquenterre est un espace préservé qui vous séduira par ses paysages uniques et ses richesses naturelles. Au cœur de la Réserve Naturelle de la Baie de Somme, site du Conservatoire du Littoral, le Parc est un lieu privilégié pour l’observation de la nature et des espèces animales et végétales. À l’intérieur du parc, 1 parcours pédestre de 6 km et 13 postes d’observation (boucles de 2 ou 4 kilomètres possibles) vous permettent d’observer aisément les oiseaux venus de l’Europe entière ou de retour d’Afrique.
Au printemps, la héronnière accueille 6 espèces d'échassiers dans une pinède avec une majorité de Spatule blanche. Une palissade d'observation permet l'observation d'une cormorantière très proche. Lors des plus grands coefficients de marée de migration postnuptiale, des milliers de limicoles ( Csigaforgató, Nagy póling ...) occupent les ilôts de reposoir. Laro-limicoles nichent sur les mêmes ilôts au printemps.

Access
Parc du Marquenterre is located on the Baie de Somme, 6 km west of the village of Rue. Due to its remote location, traveling there by car is the best option. There is a big parking at the visitor centre. Click on the P in the map for directions. Park Entrance: Adult: € 12 (2024). Access to Parc du Marquenterre is not free, but worth the admission price. With so many hides there is so much to see, you can spent an entire day here. The three different walking routes make it easy for young and old. If needed, binoculars can be rented at the visitor center. There are also many nature guides who can provide additional information on the birds in the park. Unfortunately, the park only opens at 10 am. It is open until 7 pm in the summer and until 5 am in the winter.
