Description
A scenic combination of mountain pass, cliffs, and alpine meadows, the Pas de Maimbre is an excellent location to observe typical alpine species such as the Havasi csóka and Havasi varjú up close. It is also home to the saskeselyű, which, with a bit of patience, can often be seen in all its majestic beauty. Common species here include Havasi pityer, Holló, havasi pinty, and Hantmadár. Sometimes Fakó keselyű are observed; these are immature individuals from a population in Southern Europe that spend the summer in Switzerland. With a bit of luck, observations of Hajnalmadár, rozsdás csuk, Vándorsólyom, Szirti sas, and citromcsicsörke are possible.

At the top of the Pas de Maimbré, a walk of about 50 minutes can be taken, during which saskeselyű, Havasi varjú, and Havasi csóka may be observed. It is recommended to go up around midday, as the saskeselyű is less active and harder to spot in the morning.
