Vali Recep Yazıcıoğlu Barajı is a big artificial lake directly to the east of Denizli. Many water birds are attracted to the area. Among the birds you can see on and around the reservoir are Fehér gólya, Kis vöcsök, Kis kócsag, Aranylile, Ezüstlile, kőforgató, Bíbic, Tüskés bíbic, Parti lile, Kis lile, Böjti réce, Fütyülő réce, üstökösréce, Kontyos réce, Cigányréce and Rózsás flamingó.
