This site contains a wet grassland habitat which provides ideal conditions for breeding Bíbic and Nagy póling. The surrounding farmland has lots of Mezei veréb and Mezei pacsirta whilst in winter numbers of Fütyülő réce and Csörgo réce peak.

The site is accessed from Gainsborough via the A631. At the first roundabout west of the Trent Bridge, follow the signs to Beckingham village and then take Station Street on the right. The nearest postcode is DN10 4PY. The car park is open from 9:00 to 17:00 everyday.
