Description
Glasfynydd Forest has mostly moorland and woodland species eg cigánycsuk, Red Grouse, Kerti rozsdafarkú, Sárszalonka, Kis sárszalonka, Kis sólyom, vörös vércse and Vörös kánya. In winter Nagy őrgébics, Keresztcsoru, Süvöltő, Csíz and Barna zsezse. Few birds on the reservoir but Csörgo réce, Szürke gém and Nagy bukó possible. Vízirigó and hegyi billegető below the dam. For Lappantyú, look for a recently felled forest area with regrowth of bracken, bramble etc - only active after dark between May and August.

Access
From Swansea take A4067 Tawe valley road then left two miles beyond Danyrogof caves. From A40 Brecon/Llandovery road, turn south from Trecastle. Buses through Trecastle regularly. Train station at Llandovery. The circular walk around the reservoir is 8 km.
