Description
Mere Sands Wood is a Lancashire Wildlife Trust Nature Reserve. Keep your eyes peeled for species like Süvöltő, Mezei veréb, Nagy fakopáncs and Karvaly as they fly to and from their nests in the woodland. If you take a seat in one of the lakeside hides you may see Búbos vöcsök performing their elaborate courtship ritual. Jégmadár are present as well as wintering Bölömbika. The lakes and reedbeds also support Guvat, Nádi sármány, Kerceréce, Barátréce and more.There are multiple hides, and it's easy walking.
