Description
Messingham Sand Quarries has a tick list of 180 bird species. Two hides available. Reedbeds provide nest sites for cserregő nádiposzáta, Foltos nádiposzáta, Berki poszáta and Nádi sármány. Bölömbika is a regular visitor. Winter wildfowl such as Fütyülő réce, Kanalas réce, Barátréce, Csörgo réce and Kendermagos réce. In 2001 zöld gém showed up here.

Just south of Scunthorpe and the M180 motorway. Click on the P in the map to get directions. Exit the reserve with care as its a fast straight road. The circular walking route indicated on the map is about 3 km long.
