Description
The Moor Green Lakes Nature Reserve occupies 36 hectares north of the River Blackwater. A footpath runs along much of the River Blackwater and provides reasonable, but sometimes distant, views of the lakes. There are 2 hides on the reserve providing good views of the lakes. Resident birds are Kis vöcsök, Búbos vöcsök, Kis kócsag, Karvaly, Bíbic, Kuvik, Jégmadár, Nádi sármány, Süvöltő and Vörös kánya. Summer visitors are Kis lile, Dankasirály, Küszvágó csér and Kabasólyom. In winter you can expect Nagy bukó, Kerceréce, Kis bukó, hegyi billegető and sometimes Réti fülesbagoly. During migration birds like Böjti réce, Halászsas, Barna rétihéja and Szürke cankó can sometimes be spotted.

At the western end, there is a small car park off Lower Sandhurst Road (SU 805 628), and at the eastern end, the Activity Centre car-park off Mill Lane (SU 821 620).
