Description
Sloka Lake is about 3 km long and 1.3 km wide, but only around 1.1 m deep, giving it a dark, reflective character typical of bog‑fringed waters. Sloka Lake is made attractive by an observation tower on pontoons and an adjacent boardwalk circular route of 3.1 km along the lake shore, and through black alder bogs and other habitats. Birds you can observe include Hnúðsvanur, Toppgoði, Brúnheiðir, Sefþvari, Drumbspæta, Stubbspæta, Barkspæta, Hvinönd, Grænsöngvari, Mjallhegri, Grátrana, Gaukur and Sílaþerna.

Sloka Lake is located in Ķemeri National Park, 20 km west of the town of Jūrmala. Individual transport or bicycle to the National Park Information Center. The trailhead is accessible by car, with a parking lot right at the lake. From Riga, it’s about a 45‑minute drive west via the A10 highway toward Jūrmala and Ķemeri.
