Description
Brandon Marsh has 8 bird hides situated around the reserve, overlooking pools hosting flocks of Rauðhöfðaönd, Urtönd and Skeiðönd in winter, amongst smaller numbers of Hvinönd. Scrapes host passage waders in spring and autumn, with breeding Stelkur, Tjaldur and Vatnalóa in summer. Other notable breeding species include good numbers of Sefsöngvari, Síkjasöngvari and Blæsöngvari, Gaukur and Keldusvín. Gunnfálki are everpresent throughout summer and into autumn. During the winter Brandon is often host to a Caspian Gull which winters amongst the gulls on East Marsh, with a few Yellow-legged Gulls mixed in too. Notable rarities over the last few years have included Efjutíta and Rákatíta, Þórshani, Gauktíta and Trjásvarri.

Located off Brandon lane, best access is by driving but it is possible to cycle or walk from nearby Brandon village or Binley. Once parked, explore the reserve on foot.
