From the Duggönd to the snowy white Bjartmáfur, the birds that can turn up at Hollowell Reservoir provide hours of birding. Other bird species you might spot include Þórshani, Lóuþræll, Sandlóa as well as Gulerla, Steindepill, Hagaskvetta and Strandtittlingur. And, if you are lucky, you may even spot Gjóður and Gunnfálki that regularly pay a visit. Access to Hollowell Reservoir Nature Reserve is available for permit holders only. To enjoy the peace and tranquility of the site for either walking, birdwatching, fishing or sailing a permit is required.
