Description
Tentsmuir Forest National Nature Reserve provides a variety of wildlife. The area has woods, mud and sand estuary, heath and sand dunes. Grey seals float effortlessly on their backs upriver on a rising tide, only their rounded noses showing above water. In September/October waders are varied (up to 13 species though not numerous). Hávella, Duggönd, Æðarfugl, Hvinönd and Hrafnsönd offshore. Skógarsnípa, Glókollur and Krossnefur in the woods. Hagaskvetta, Vallskvetta, Steindepill and Þúfutittlingur on the dunes.
