Description
The Trent Port area is flat and overlooks a number of fields and the River Trent. The River Trent is a good location for Lindastelkur during passage, Bjarthegri and Bláþyrill. The surrounding fields and hedgerows have good numbers of Sandhæna, Seftittlingur and Gultittlingur. 150 species have been recorded here including local scarcities such as Grænsöngvari, Kjarnbítur, Klapparmáfur and Flekkugrípur whilst Dvergsnípa and Gulönd are annual visitors. In winter the River Trent is prone to flooding the fields, which provide some additional ornithological interest. Species recorded during floods includes Skeiðönd, Grafönd, Skutulönd and Skúfönd.
