Description

Lake Havasu is a desert reservoir located on the border between Arizona and California. The lake stretches about 45 miles long. The lake is a crucial water source and habitat for local wildlife. The Lake Havasu region is one of Arizona’s most ecologically diverse areas. It’s where desert meets water, creating a year-round oasis for resident and migratory birds.

Lake Havasu Windsor Campgrounds and its surrounding area are a nice spot for birdwatching. Ducks, raptors and herons are common. Just like sandpipers and plovers along the shoreline, especially during migration seasons. The lake is a great spot to see grebes like Western Grebe and Clark's Grebe. You can also spot songbirds and desert birds like Gambel's Quail, Cactus Wren, Verdin and various sparrows that thrive in the desert scrub around the lake.
