Descrizione
Bistraka is a small lake between the river Struma and the A3 motorway. Its a great place for Tarabusino in the summer. Other birds you can observe include Garzetta, Cicogna nera, Cicogna bianca, Moriglione, Usignolo, Falco di palude Martin pescatore, Gruccione, Topino, Picchio rosso di Siria and Cannareccione. Seasonal migration brings flocks of swallows, wagtails, and warblers, while wintering ducks and geese use the area as resting grounds. The area has also seen rarities like Moretta tabaccata and Falco cuculo.

Bistraka lake is located south of the town of Blagoevgrad. It has easy access next to a road. Press P on the map for directions. You can make a 2,5 km circular walk around the lake and also walk to the dams in the Struma river.
