Descrizione
Falkenhagener See is a shallow, elongated lake in Falkensee. Forests, small settlements, and open spaces surround the lake, giving it a calm, suburban‑nature feel. Falkenhagener See is a glacial lake, about 44 hectares in size, roughly 2.2 km long. In the early 1990s, the lake underwent a major desilting and restoration project to prevent ecological collapse; water levels are now stabilized with inflow from the Havelkanal. The western shore features the Vogelinsel, a small island important for birds. Birds you can see around the lake include Cigno reale, Oca selvatica, Moretta, Moriglione, Gallinella d'acqua, Folaga, Martin pescatore, Cincia bigia, Cannaiola, Codibugnolo, Regolo, Picchio muratore, Lucherino and Migliarino di palude.
