Descrizione
Get up early with high tide, before the dogwalkers appear, and the beach will have plenty of birds in easy reach of a short stroll. Beccaccia di mare, Chiurlo maggiore, Airone cenerino and Pettegola are all likely on the beach around the waterline. Voltapietre, Cornacchia grigia and Ballerina nera may be more likely on exposed seaweed or flotsam around the tide mark. Corvo comune is also possible. Marangone dal ciuffo is most likely hauled out on rocky outcrops, although Cormorano is becoming more common in recent times. Gabbiano comune is common with occasional Gabbiano corallino. Edredone and Germano reale are likely in the water.
For a slightly longer walk a path goes along the cliffs at the north end of the bay where Spioncello marino, Saltimpalo and Gracchio corallino could be encountered.
