Descrizione

Parc Mon Repos is a tranquil park located along the shores of Lake Geneva, featuring manicured gardens, woodland areas, and a scenic lakeside promenade. The park’s mix of habitats provides an ideal environment for a variety of bird species.

In spring and summer, you can spot Germano reale, Cigno reale, and Svasso maggiore swimming in the lake, while the surrounding trees and shrubs are home to Luì piccolo, Cinciarella, Colombella, and Merlo. Migratory swallows can often be seen flying overhead.

During autumn and winter, the shore attracts Folaga, Moretta, and Tuffetto. Porciglione and Martin pescatore are occasionally seen along the lake’s edge.

Particularly during migration periods, you can occasionally see waders on the shore, such as Piovanello pancianera, Piro piro piccolo or even Voltapietre.

Gulls rest on the rocky outcrop in the water, in winter including Gavina and, in lower numbers, Zafferano. On windless days, it is also worth bringing a scope and searching the lake area for rare winter visitors: Svasso cornuto, Orchetto marino and Svasso collorosso are reported quite regularly, and even Strolaga maggiore and Moretta codona have been spotted from the park.

The peaceful setting, combined with beautiful views of the lake and the Alps, makes Parc Mon Repos an ideal spot for birdwatching and enjoying nature.
