The Gruccione egiziano breeds in Asia, Northern Africa, and the Middle East. They also do so in eastern Turkey. They nest solitarily or in loose colonies of up to ten birds. They sometimes nest in colonies with Gruccione. The dry and open surroundings of the hamlet of Hüyüklü are a good spot to see Gruccione egiziano. They are summer guests and breed in the area. Other birds you can see in the area are Gruccione, Tortora delle palme, Tortora selvatica, Ghiandaia marina, Upupa, Francolino, Poiana codabianca, Nibbio bruno, Picchio rosso di Siria, Culbianco, Monachella di Finsch and Prinia gracile.
