Vali Recep Yazıcıoğlu Barajı is a big artificial lake directly to the east of Denizli. Many water birds are attracted to the area. Among the birds you can see on and around the reservoir are Cicogna bianca, Tuffetto, Garzetta, Piviere dorato, Pivieressa, Voltapietre, Pavoncella, Pavoncella armata, Corriere grosso, Corriere piccolo, Marzaiola, Fischione, Fistione turco, Moretta, Moretta tabaccata and Fenicottero.
