Descrizione
Along the lane close to the carpark Passera mattugia are quite common, one of the few places in Cheshire. Unusual waterfowl may be found on any of the large lakes, however a telescope is recommended as views can be quite distant. Moriglione, Quattrocchi, Smergo maggiore are likely in winter, Oca egiziana can be quite frequent, and if lucky, unusual species such as Oca lombardella or Svasso piccolo can occasionally show up.
The woods, forest and field hedgerow adjacent to the lakes are a good place to find the common tits and finches. All 3 wood peckers are reported, Picchio rosso maggiore quite frequent, Picchio verde occasional, Picchio rosso minore rarely. Large flocks of Fringuello can occur, as well as Cardellino, Verdone and an occasional Peppola.
