Coll RSPB reserve has a car park and visitor centre. Re di quaglie breed in the area. Coll and Tiree have one third of the UK population. Fanello nordico, Albanella reale and Smeriglio also breed. The island is a vital stopover and wintering area for arctic breeders such as Oca zamperosee, Greenland Oca lombardella and Oca facciabianca, Strolaga maggiore, skuas, Piovanello violetto, Voltapietre and godwits. Berta minore atlantica and storm petrels offshore.

Coll is reached by ferry from Oban. Delays are likely. The reserve is six miles SW of Arinagour, pass the airstrip and turn left to Totronald.
