Descrizione
The Deben Estuary is a nationally and internationally significant wintering area for up to 6,000 Piviere dorato, 600 Pittima reale, Pettegola and 400+ Avocetta. Also Piovanello pancianera, Piovanello maggiore, Pivieressa and Pavoncella. Quattrocchi at Martlesham Creek and Strolaga maggiore at Ramsholt. Svasso maggiore, Svasso cornuto, Svasso piccolo and Porciglione possible. Small flock of Fanello nordico most winters. High tides are best for seeing roosting waders, check tide times and height first (see the link below). Take care not to get cut off by exceptionally high tides.

From Ipswich take A12 to Woodbridge then various minor roads to Waldringfield on south bank or Bawdsey on north bank. Boat hire available Woodbridge or Waldringfield.
