At Ewelme the overgrown watercress beds provide shelter for rodents, which in turn attracts bird predators such as Barbagianni, Nibbio reale, 3 egret species and Airone cenerino. Smaller birds include Verdone, Cardellino, Capinera and Migliarino di palude, pursued by Sparviere. King's Pool may have Martin pescatore, Tuffetto, Gallinella d'acqua, Moretta and Folaga.

From Oxford take A423 south for 12 miles then minor road left through Benson. There is no car park at the Watercress beds but onstreet parking in the village centre, plus car park near playground. Reserve access is free and unrestricted. Visitor centre admission £3, restricted hours.
