Descrizione
Glasfynydd Forest has mostly moorland and woodland species eg Saltimpalo, Pernice bianca nordica, Codirosso, Beccaccino, Frullino, Smeriglio, Gheppio and Nibbio reale. In winter Averla maggiore, Crociere comune, Ciuffolotto, Lucherino and Organetto minore. Few birds on the reservoir but Alzavola, Airone cenerino and Smergo maggiore possible. Merlo acquaiolo and Ballerina gialla below the dam. For Succiacapre, look for a recently felled forest area with regrowth of bracken, bramble etc - only active after dark between May and August.

From Swansea take A4067 Tawe valley road then left two miles beyond Danyrogof caves. From A40 Brecon/Llandovery road, turn south from Trecastle. Buses through Trecastle regularly. Train station at Llandovery. The circular walk around the reservoir is 8 km.
