Beautiful views and plenty of places to explore in a relatively small area, including the pier, rockpools, and beach. Parking and places to eat also in abundance. Huge noisy colony of Gabbiano tridattilo breed underneath the pier in late summer, allowing for very close and intimate views of chicks and adults with little disturbance. In summer, this is a reliable place to see Gabbiano corallino, often side by side with Gabbiano comune. Through winter, flocks of Piovanello tridattilo, Beccaccia di mare, and Gabbiano reale nordico can be seen regularly, along with Cormorano, Mugnaiaccio, and Zafferano. Strolaga minore have also been reported here.

Parking available throughout Mumbles within walking distnace, and some limited parking available right next to the pier itself. Recommend parking in the 'Big Apple Car Park' on the clifftop above the pier for great views. Cycling is common, including the use of the Swansea Santander hire bikes.
