From September to November, and in April/May Painswick hill is good for seeing migrants, especially early morning. Hundreds of Colombaccio, Piviere dorato, Fringuello, Storno, Cesena, Tordo sassello and Ghiandaia can pass through. Also Peppola, Lucherino, Frosone, Zigolo giallo, Lodolaio, Falco pellegrino, Smeriglio, Merlo dal collare, Nibbio reale, Sparviere and Albanella reale possible. 4 miles south of Gloucester on B4073 Painswick road. M5 junction 12. 66 bus from Cheltenham stops nearby. Be aware of golfers, dont obstruct play or become an accidental target. The circular walking route indicated on the map is about 4,5 km.
