Descrizione
The RSPB Loch Gruinart Reserve has two hides and a visitor centre. In the spring the fields come alive with breeding wader displays including Pavoncella, Pettegola and drumming Beccaccino. Re di quaglie calls can be heard from mid-May and Albanella reale can be seen displaying on the moorland. In Autumn, Oca facciabianca and Oca lombardella arrive in numbers around 30,000 from Greenland, this arrival attracts many Aquila di mare to the Loch. Waders such as Piovanello tridattilo, Piovanello pancianera, Corriere grosso, Piviere dorato and Pittima minore can be seen through the autumn and winter using the loch. Wintering wildfowl such as Fischione, Codone, Alzavola and Cigno selvatico spend the winter in front of the hides.
