Descrizione
The Solway Firth is an extensive and remote area of saltmarsh, mudflats, sandy coast, dunes and reedbeds attracting a wide range of wetland birds. Breeding and passage waders include Pettegola, Voltapietre, Beccaccia di mare and Chiurlo maggiore. Winter wildfowl and seabirds include Mestolone, Alzavola, Cigno selvatico, Oca zamperosee, Oca facciabianca, Quattrocchi, Edredone, and divers, grebes, and auks. Also look out for Garzetta, Martin pescatore, Allodola, Saltimpalo and Pispola. Otters are possible, plus seals, porpoise and dolphin offshore. At Grune Point the receding sea leaves tidal lagoons ideal for rockpooling.
