Descrizione
Two Tree Island is adjacent to the Thames Estuary and a winter refuge for a huge variety of winter wildfowl and waders. Good views of the Thames Estuary and surrounding area. Good for wildfowl and waders plus passage birds and raptors. Gulls all year, terns in summer. During winter the mudflats provide habitat for thousands of wildfowl and waders, including noisy flocks of dark-bellied Oca colombaccio that feed on the dense beds of eel-grass. Wander round the western section and you will reach the Lagoon Hide, where hundreds of waders such as Chiurlo maggiore, Piovanello pancianera, Avocetta, Pettegola and Pittima reale flock to in winter. With some luck you can see Gufo di palude hunting throughout the autumn and winter months.
