Whitmoor Common is an open heathland surrounded by forest. The heathland has various birds including Saltimpalo and a small population of Magnanina comune. In summer evenings, Succiacapre and sometimes Beccaccia can be found. The surrounding forests can get birds including Rampichino alpestre, Ghiandaia, Picchio verde, and other common forest birds. To the east, a walk around Britton's Pond can get various waterfowl species as well.

Whitmoor Common is located just north of Guildford. There are two car parks, one for the forest and heathland and one for Britten's Pond. Click on a P in the map for directions to a parking. The circular walk indicated on the map is about 2 miles.
