Description
Bistraka is a small lake between the river Struma and the A3 motorway. Its a great place for Мал воден бик in the summer. Other birds you can observe include мала бела чапја, црн штрк, штрк, црвеноглав кожувар, славејче, блатна еја рибарче, пчеларка, брегова ластовичка, сириски клукајдрвец and обичен трскар. Seasonal migration brings flocks of swallows, wagtails, and warblers, while wintering ducks and geese use the area as resting grounds. The area has also seen rarities like црн кожувар and сина ветрушка.

Access
Bistraka lake is located south of the town of Blagoevgrad. It has easy access next to a road. Press P on the map for directions. You can make a 2,5 km circular walk around the lake and also walk to the dams in the Struma river.
