The Holzbrücke Bad Säckingen is considered the longest covered wooden bridge in Europe that still stands in its original form. It stretches across the Rhine and connects the German town of Bad Säckingen with the Swiss village of Stein. The bridge dates back to the 13th century. Birdwatching from the bridge is rewarding because the bridge is pedestrian‑only and sits directly above a calm, wide section of the Rhine. Birds you can observe include ducks, swans, gulls and herons. Besides the bridge, it also nice to watch birds on the promenade along the Rhine.

The Holzbrücke Bad Säckingen connects the towns of Bad Säckingen and Stein. The bridge is easy to reach on foot from both towns and is signposted throughout the area. Press P on the map for directions to a parking.
