Description
Frenchman's Rocks is a useful seawatch point in late summer and early autumn, best when a SW or NW wind is blowing. Best views are from the hill next to Wavegen Power Station, called Rubha na Faing on the Ordnance Survey map. There is a car park at Claddach near Currie Sands beach.
Birds to see are морски кожувар, Common Scoter, голем морски нуркач, белец, мал морски нуркач, Sooty Shearwater, Мал завој, Balearic Shearwater, Leach's Storm Petrel, Great Skua, поморник, арктички поморник, Arctic Tern, Sabine's Gull, тропрст галеб, Bar-tailed Godwit, Rock Pipit, камењарче and Purple Sandpiper.

Ferry to Islay from Kinnacraig (delays possible) or by air from Glasgow. The site is at the far end of Rhinns of Islay peninsula. Click on the P in the map to get directions.
