Description
Hound Point is a prominent cape jutting into the estuary of the Firth of Forth. The headland forms a natural viewpoint over the Forth, with steep wooded slopes behind it and tidal rocks below. A public coastal path runs right past it. Hound Point is a good place to observe the migration of seabirds. Easterly and northerly winds are usually most productive. The site is well known for spotting skuas, especially during summer and autumn. арктички поморник are seen most regularly, but поморник, Long-tailed Skua and Great Skua can also be spotted. Other migratings seabirds that can be observed include Northern Gannet, тропрст галеб, мал морски нуркач, мал галеб and Sabine's Gull.

Hound Point is located 10 miles northwest of Edinburgh, just west of South Queensferry and east of Barnbougle Castle. There is a public and bicycle path to Hound Point. It's more than 3 km to the closest car park.
