Description
Moseley Green and Oakenhill Wood is an open-plan wooded area between Parkend and Mallards Pike. In contrast to most of the Forest of Dean, there are few mature trees here. Oakenhill (a Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust reserve) and Little Moseley are former heath areas where birch is slowly taking over. Park at Parkend Church (4 miles north of Lydney, follow B4234 or take Dean Forest Railway) or by the Rising Sun pub in Moseley Green. Bicycle hire in Parkend, and elsewhere in the Forest. The circular route on the map is about 5 km.
