Description
NWT Ranworth Broad is accessible to all and boasts a great visitor centre (which is open in the spring and summer) with wide views over Ranworth Broad. The broad (lake) itself offers chances to see цуцулест нуркач, рибарче and блатна еја throughout the year, while the boardwalk trail supports мала црноглава сипка, зимовка and барска кокошка may also be heard.
In winter, the broad will be busy with feeding wildfowl including патка свиркач, патка берија, патка лажичарка, патка ластовичарка and a few цуцулест кожувар. In periods of harsh weather, голем воден бик, морски кожувар and other scarcer species may be seen. The alder trees on the trail from the car park may hold good numbers of елова зелентарка and Lesser Redpoll.
In summer, there is a chance of seeing a flyover орел рибар, but more likely, there will be plenty of речна чигра feeding over the broad. Large gatherings of селска ластовичка, градска ластовичка and брегова ластовичка may also be seen. Listen out for the songs of обичен свиркач, мал трскар, трскар рогозар and even a кукавица along the boardwalk trail.
