Description
Pembrey Country Park and Beach is set against the backdrop of the Gower Peninsula and overlooking the coastal scenery of Carmarthen Bay. The area has a long wide sandy beach with forest to the west, dunes and tidal mudflats to the east, and a centre for cycling, riding, golf, dry ski, industrial archaeology and camping/caravan.
This is a significant wintering area for raptors and waders, with divers, scoters, skuas and grebes offshore. Up to 38.000 Common Scoter, 2.000 остригар, 500 Red Knot, lesser numbers of морски кожувар, Brent Goose, камењарче and медитерански галеб. тенкоклуна чигра numerous in autumn. Access
Turn south from the A484 Carmarthen to Llanelli road, one mile west of the town of Burry Port. Click on a P in the map to get directions to the parking of your choice. A national cycling route passes through, access from Kidwelly or Burry Port docks.
