Description
Talybont Reservoir has two bird hides, car parking, and a nice cafe in the village. Shallow water, marshland and exposed mud at the top end attract dabbling ducks, waders especially шумска шљука, обична бекасина, мала бекасина, сива чапја, мала бела чапја and барска кокошка in autumn and winter. The woods have црноглаво муварче, глувчар, Шумски (Обичен) був, Обичен (Шумски) лазач, обичен ползач and козодој. In the surrounding streams look for планинска тресиопашка, воден ќос and планинско ливадарче. And on the moors may be голем српоклун свиркач, златно блатарче, Red Grouse, гавран, ливадска трепетилка and обично камењарче . The nearby canal has рибарче.

Access
Between Brecon and Abergavenny. Take the B4558 and turn south in Talybont village. A regular bus service runs through the village, from which it's a 2 mile walk to the reservoir. The circular route up to Tor y Foel is 5 km, with 250 metres of ascent. Stout boots, a hiking pole, snacks, a drink and waterproof clothing are recommended.
