Beschrijving
Ølsemagle Revle is a 3 km long sandbar created by material deposited by the sea in the inner part of Køge Bugt. Out to the sea is a long sandy beach and a lagoon has formed between the bar and the coast. The lagoon is popular with birds of different families, especially wetland species such as Pijlstaart, Brandgans, Kluut, Witgat etc.
The area is an important resting place for migratory birds, especially in the autumn. For waders, Ølsemagle Revle is still one of the best resting places in Eastern Denmark and flocks of waders can be seen resting or foraging in the area from July until well into November.
Some raptors like Blauwe Kiekendief, Torenvalk and Zeearend also frequent these lagoons. The surrounding wetland contains several designated breeding areas, especially for Scholekster.

In the northern and southern parts of the area, traffic is prohibited from April 1 to July 15 out of consideration for breeding birds. Due to the great recreational pressure on the area, it is difficult for coastal birds to find peace and quiet to breed, despite the mentioned restriction on access to the peaks during the breeding season.
