Beschrijving
Burg Linn is popular with history enthusiasts and families alike. It's also ideal for bird photographers, as the birds are quite accustomed to people. The park is open year-round, except during the Flachsmarkt (traditional craft market) in May, when birdwatching is not possible. The park features open meadows where you can observe Houtduif, Holenduif, Zwarte Kraai and Ekster. There are designated dog-friendly meadows in the center of the park, as well as fenced pastures for cows and horses.
The park also boasts large ponds where you can often spot Wilde Eend, Meerkoet, Waterhoen, Nijlgans, Kuifeend and Knobbelzwaan. With a bit of luck you can also find Dodaars (they're often found in the nearby Greiffenhostpark when they're not in Burg Linn Park), and in winter also Wintertaling can be spotted. Blauwe Reiger is common.
Numerous songbird species can be found in bushes and trees, the most common being Pimpelmees, Koolmees, Roodborst, Zwartkop, Tjiftjaf, Vink, Putter, Spreeuw, Merel and Zanglijster. When you are lucky you can spot Grauwe Vliegenvanger or Appelvink.
